Robin Bartholomew
Robin Bartholomew has been a cherished part of the Placer Theatre Ballet family for many years. She is delighted to be co-directing again this year alongside Mrs. Dolkas. Robin began her journey with PTB as assistant director to her mother, our founder, Pat Colgate, and later served on the PTB Board of Directors as Artistic Advisor. She brings with her a rich historical perspective and a deep breadth of artistic and organizational experience.
For more than 35 years, Robin has taught dance throughout the local community, building strong and lasting relationships with dancers and their families. Her students have gone on to receive numerous awards and pursue careers in the professional dance world. She is honored to continue nurturing the next generation of dancers and preserving the legacy of Placer Theatre Ballet.
Robin began her dance training in the Bay Area at the age of five, studying ballet, tap, jazz, and acrobatics. She began her professional career with the San Francisco Ballet Company, where she had the opportunity to both study and perform. Robin then spent six years performing with the San Jose Civic Light Opera, sharing the stage with acclaimed artists such as Michele Lee, Tyne Daly, Ken Berry, Ron Palillo, Joanne Worley, and others.
Over the course of her training, Robin has studied with renowned instructors including Brenda Bufalino, Sam Weber, and Joe Tremaine. She has received numerous awards and scholarships throughout California and has served as a judge for multiple dance competitions.
In 1985, Robin joined the elite cheerleading squad for the San Francisco 49ers, The Gold Rush.
She is delighted to share in this year’s production of The Nutcracker.
